Hope Hunter

Hope Hunter

Interior Designer

Hope Hunter is an Interior Design Professional with over 30 years experience. She is a versatile designer with a passion for detail and an incredible gift of interpreting her client's desires. Hope is a perfectionist and a loyal driven designer that gives her clients the satisfaction of a home they "absolutely love".

Hope has beautifully furnished many models which have sold for Developers and Builders, not only in the Low Country but Amelia Island and Ponte Verda, Florida.  She furnished Shadowlawn, a Southern Living Showcase House in Oldfield, which won the Lighthouse Award of Excellence for Best Overall Design and was featured in the Low Country Homes Magazine. Hope also completed all building selections and furnishings of a home in Berkeley Hall which won the South Carolina Home Builders Association Pinnacle Award for over all design of homes priced in the $750,000 to $1,000,000 range and was featured in the Palmetto Home Magazine.

Her designs can be found not only in the South but in a chic apartment on Park Avenue, a 5th Avenue condo with a divine view of Manhattan's Central Park or a vacation home on St. Croix, Virgin Islands, and many more. 

Giving back has been a life time work for Hope whether designing the decorations for the Wine Auction, most notably Cirque de Rose', to benefit the Arts Center, or designing splendid floral arrangements for magical evenings at fundraisers such as Cancer Balls, March of Dimes, Heart Ball, Arthritis Foundation, Concours d'Elegance or the Girl Scouts, just to name a few.

Hope has been a freelance writer for the Island Packet, focusing on Interior Design trends that inspired readers throughout the area.

Hope's work dazzled visitors who experienced her Designer Show House rooms on Hilton Head Island. Her unexpected and innovative ideas have always echoed throughout her work,which makes Hope one of the most sought after designers in the Low Country.

Dean Huntley

Dean Huntley

Interior Designer

With over thirty years of design experience in both residential and commercial projects, Dean Huntley has executed sophisticated designs up and down the east coast focusing mainly on the Low Country. As a graduate of Lander University with a fine arts degree in interior design, she prides herself on creating designs that reflect the client’s personality and lifestyle. She has completed a multitude of designs ranging from large-scale residential projects to local restaurants.

Dean’s expertise led her to write a design column in The Island Packet for several years. Her extensive travel, especially to South America, allows her to add a taste of international style. Working in conjunction with architects and builders, Dean ensures that her client’s vision is realized. Her work has been featured in Carolina Architecture and Design Magazine and a number of other publications.

Most recently, Dean was awarded four Aurora Awards, including the top award, the Golden Aurora, during the Annual Industry Gala at the 2009 Southeast Building Conference/Green Building Show in Orlando, Fla. The Aurora Awards honor the Southeast's most outstanding builders, designers, architects and other industry professionals within a twelve-state region and the Caribbean. Dean won for the interior design of "Natures Image" an 8,000 square foot compound in Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton, SC. She was also awarded the 2009 Best in State Aurora Award, the 2009 Grand Aurora Award and the 2009 Aurora Award.

Cris Taylor

Cris Taylor

Interior Designer

Cris Taylor earned her design degree in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has lived in New Orleans, Washington DC, California, Missouri and traveled Europe. Her expertise includes residential design and model merchandising. She has designed projects in the Hilton Head area, Palmetto Bluff, Daufuskie Island, Canada and several major US cities including Chicago and Washington DC. A noteworthy project was designing interiors of luxury barges in France.

Cris has been published in Luxury Homes, Luxury Living, Better Homes and Gardens Kitchen and Bath Ideas, Savannah Magazine, Veranda Magazine, South Carolina Home and Gardens and her designs are featured in the N.Y. Times best seller “Creating the Not So Big House” by Sara Susanka. One of Cris’s projects received the National “Best in American Living Award,” sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders and Professional Builder Magazine for a private residence in the South Atlantic Region.

Cris designed interiors for the Wilson Row project at Palmetto Bluff which received a 2012 Grand Aurora Award, Aurora Best of State, and Builder's Choice 2012 Merit Award.

Susan Henz

Susan Henz

Residential Interior Designer and Director of Commercial Sales and Design

For over 30 years, Susan Henz has focused on combining innovative ideas and the practicality of interior design. As a graduate of the University of Missouri she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design.

Susan helps homeowners realize their goals by leveraging her keen sense of style, uniquely diverse design experience, attention to detail and ability to work directly with architects, builders and tradesmen. Driven by inspiration and experience, Susan selects and integrates colors, surface treatments, fabrics, furniture and lighting to create tasteful, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing interiors that are exceptionally functional.

Serving clients, Susan uses her deep technical and organizational abilities developed as the manager of Plantation Interiors’ Commercial Department where she received Southern Links magazine’s “Best of South” award for her clubhouse design. Beyond residential interior design, Susan’s depth and breadth of experience includes exceptional designs for villas, timeshares, clubhouses, banks, offices and hospitality projects.

Susan also enthusiastically lends her design expertise to such community projects as the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, The Children's Center, The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry and Volunteers in Medicine.

Denise Stringer

Denise Stringer

Interior Designer

Denise Stringer has been in the residential and commercial design business for over 30 years. As a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, Denise began her career at an interior design firm in Upstate New York. After several years, Denise started her own design studio in Manlius, New York and worked there until her relocation to Hilton Head Island in 1994. Her designs can be found in Maine, New York State, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Florida, as well as St. Maarten and the Bahamas.

Through her extensive world travels, Denise brings influence from different cultures allowing her to blend an understanding of the past with insights into important new trends.

Denise has been the recipient of the most prestigious Aurora Award for outstanding design in a twelve state region of the  southeast including Best of State for South Carolina Custom Home over $2,500,000; two Aurora Awards for One of a Kind Custom Home over $3,000,000 and two Grand Aurora Awards for Best of State in South Carolina. She has been published in a number of national magazines including American Dream Homes and Coastal Living. Denise prides herself on combining her client’s needs and desires with her innovative design ideas and attention to detail.

Cheryl Wilson

Cheryl Wilson

Interior Designer

Originally from Ohio, Cheryl received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interior Design from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. She has been a resident of the Low Country and a veteran of the interior design business since 1981. Cheryl worked for Plantation Interiors in the mid 80’s prior to starting her own Interior Design business. She returns to Plantation Interiors with a wide range of experience and expertise to compliment each clients needs, personality and distinctive style.

Cheryl would be happy to assist you in any aspect of interior design from home consultations, space planning to furniture and accessory selection and placement. She is also available to assist you in the building process working with your architect or builder. Whether you are designing a new home or villa, refurbishing an existing home or villa, or just in need of an accessory or window treatment Cheryl is here to serve your furnishing needs. Her goal is to make certain you are delighted with your completed interior and that your budget is comfortable.

Anita  Jennings

Anita Jennings

Interior Designer

Anita Jennings is an experienced and innovative interior designer focused on service. She earned her degree in interior design from Bauder College of Fort Lauderdale, graduating with honors, and receiving the Golden Triangle Award for Excellence among her peers.

For over 25 years, Anita has worked diligently for her clients, striving for excellence in projects that have included working with builders and architects as well as homeowners. Anita has worked on projects on Hilton Head Island, the Caribbean and South Florida, where she also owned and managed an interior design and retail shop on popular Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach.

With a strong foundation in space planning and color and furniture selection, Anita’s strength is in her ability to discern and interpret her client’s vision and make them a reality.

Anita has lived in Vienna, Austria, Little Dix Bay Resort in the British Virgin Islands, and the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. She has traveled extensively to places like South America, Europe, The Caribbean, Canada, Hawaii and many other parts of the United States. Adding all of these rich experiences to her interior design has enabled Anita to envision and create many beautiful and special spaces for her clients.

Carolyn  Crout

Carolyn Crout

Interior Designer

Carolyn Crout is a highly accomplished Interior Design Professional with a solid history of commercial and residential design experience for over twenty-five years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from the University of South Carolina.

For many years, Carolyn was an Interior Designer with one of the large commercial furniture manufacturers where she designed numerous projects across the country including commercial, healthcare, and corporate settings. She was responsible for generating highly detailed and technical AutoCAD drawings in accordance to applicable building codes, space planning, furniture and finish selections, preparing budget estimates and pricing. Carolyn is well versed in creating and delivering client presentations using AutoCAD, CAP 20/20, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop and enjoys using these design tools to help clients visualize design concepts.

Prior to coming to Plantation Interiors, Carolyn owned her own design firm specializing in furniture selection and AutoCAD services, working on many homes across the Lowcountry. Her technical expertise, passion for design, and her love of working with clients, ensure well organized and executed projects.
